Jacob Hochberg advises clients on federal public policy, appropriations strategy, legislative advocacy and political engagement from the firm’s Washington DC office. As a principal in our Public Policy Practice Group, Jacob helps clients navigate complex policy and regulatory environments, leveraging nearly a decade of experience on Capitol Hill, deep bipartisan relationships and extensive expertise in the congressional appropriations process.
Jacob is highly regarded for his experience in both public policy development and political operations. He works with clients across a range of industries to develop and execute government relations strategies, secure legislative and funding priorities, assess policy risks and opportunities, and engage effectively with policymakers and stakeholders. His experience advising private sector organizations on advocacy initiatives and outreach efforts gives him a practical understanding of the intersection of business, government and politics.
Prior to joining our firm, Jacob was a senior leader at a bipartisan government affairs firm, where he directed House and Senate outreach efforts and advised clients on strategic advocacy campaigns and public policy initiatives. Before entering the private sector, he spent nearly 10 years in the US House of Representatives, serving five members of Congress in increasingly senior positions, including two chief of staff roles. Most notably, he served as chief of staff to Congressman Henry Cuellar (D-TX), while concurrently serving as associate staff on the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security. In these capacities, he developed expertise in appropriations, homeland security, transportation, infrastructure, energy and a broad range of federal policy matters.
Throughout his career, Jacob has built a reputation as a trusted advisor to policymakers, corporate leaders and advocacy organizations. His firsthand knowledge of the legislative process, congressional operations and federal funding mechanisms enables him to help clients advance their priorities and achieve successful outcomes in Washington DC.
