These executive order (EO) summaries are based on a cursory review; our lawyers and policy professionals continue to analyze these documents, and the directives they contain. Among other things, some of the directed actions may present significant constitutional questions that could be litigated and subsequently overturned or blocked.

Establishment of the Religious Liberty Commission

An EO establishing the Religious Liberty Commission, which will issue a report on the state of religious liberty in America and advise the White House Faith Office and Domestic Policy Council on policies regarding religious liberty. A fact sheet on the EO can be found on the White House website.

 
April 4, 2025

Extending the TikTok Enforcement Delay

An EO directing the Attorney General to continue delaying enforcement of the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act until June 19, 2025.

 
January 20, 2025

Restoring Freedom of Speech and Ending Federal Censorship

An EO prohibiting the federal government from unconstitutionally abridging the free speech rights of US citizens and directing the Attorney General to investigate and prepare a report on Biden administration policies relating to free speech, including disinformation and misinformation programs. The EO also prevents federal funding for actions that limit freedom of speech.
