Monica Gogna is the firm’s global head of financial services regulation. Based in London, Monica advises a broad spectrum of financial institutions, including fintechs, investment banks, investment managers, private banks, hedge funds, credit funds and private equity funds, plus several government entities, on financial regulatory matters.
Monica is known for providing holistic and strategic advice on the most challenging issues affecting the financial services sector, including advising clients on global cross-border issues and leading transformation projects. She has a deep expertise in asset management and has been consistently recognised by the industry for her work in investment management and exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
Monica has led several industry initiatives to solve complex challenges in the financial services sector, including transatlantic challenges implementing Markets in Financial Instruments Directive II (MiFID II) and the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD), and, most recently, leading on the development of a roadmap to launch a UK digital gilt.
Monica is ranked as a Leading Individual and recognised by her peers for founding a team ranked as One to Watch by Legal 500 within the first year of launch. Monica has been named as a Top 30 ETF Influencer by ETF Stream and twice been personally commended by the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers for her work in fintech and digital assets.
